Is USFORHOMES an estate agent?
No. The website is a service of USFORHOMES and outside the scope of estate agency. USFORHOMES and the concept “For sale direct by owner” is a property internet publisher.
Can I use USFORHOMES and an agent, but not pay the agent commission if I sell privately?
If you have already engaged an estate agent to sell your property or you still propose to do so, you must check the terms of your agreement with them. Ensure your estate agent hasn’t specified a clause stating “Sole Selling Rights” instead of “Sole Agency Rights” because your agent would then still claim commission and/or an admin fee from you even if you sold privately.
Do I legally need an Estate Agent?
No. Apart from arranging viewings, most estate agents do not get involved in the legal process and paper work in relation to your house sale.
Do I need to appoint a solicitor?
Yes, once you have agreed the price with a buyer and you are both ready to move the sale forward you will need to appoint a solicitor to carryout the legal work, this is called ‘conveyancing’.
