The county of Monmouthshire lies in the south east corner of Wales, and borders Brecknockshire and Glamorgan in Wales itself, and Herefordshire and Gloucestershire in England to its east.  This county was fought over for centuries because of its location on the ever changing border.  It is a little over two and a half hours drive to London and is a popular location with house buyers because of the rural landscape it offers.  Homes here date back to the Victorian era in some parts, including the towns of Chepstow and Usk, although most properties tend to be period town homes or rural dwellings.  The area offers a variety of outdoor activities, including walking and cycling, and its coastline with the Bristol Channel sees it play host to several types of water sports.  Local places of interest include the very popular Raglan Castle and the famous Brecon Beacons National Park.
