The city of Swansea and its surrounding Gower Peninsula is located in the south east of Wales.  This tiny authority, which makes up a complete county of its own, is a large urban population, with the only real rural landscape being provided in the form of the stunning Gower coastline.  Bordered by Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire, this county has a three and a half hour drive from London.  The area is popular with home buyers for a number of reasons, including the excellent schooling system and immediate access to several institutes of higher learning, including Swansea University.  Homes in Swansea are mainly urban designed builds, including townhouses and period homes.  There are some more rural properties out with the main conurbation.  Local places of interest include t he Swansea Museum and the Dylan Thomas Centre, both a showcase of Swansea’s proud cultural ethos.  There are several water sports on offer and a Celtic cycle trail to enjoy.
